Bio
Jared Loewen is a Canadian visual artist whose work explores how images and structures emerge from simple systems of colour and form. From an early age, he was driven by a curiosity about how things take shape, and later studied at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, majoring in History with a minor in Mathematics.
Drawing influence from the reductive geometry of Piet Mondrian, Minimalism, and the vibrant chromatic intensity of Pop Art, Loewen constructs paintings that move between restraint and celebration—balancing formal clarity with a heightened sense of visual presence.
Through structured arrangements of bands, grids, and evolving colour systems, his practice reflects an interest in how form arises from fields of formless potential. His paintings balance clarity and complexity, inviting sustained visual engagement through subtle variation and controlled tension.
Loewen’s work has been exhibited in galleries across Western Canada, including his 2024 solo exhibition “Kaleido-Genesis.” He is currently represented by Lloyd Gallery (Penticton, BC) and exhibits at Woodlands Gallery (Winnipeg, MB).
