Bio
Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Jared Loewen discovered an early connection to drawing and the quiet clarity it offered. During high school, he aspired to become a classical hand-drawn animator, but as the industry shifted toward digital work, he moved toward more traditional pursuits. This path eventually led him to a career in elementary education, a role he continues today and one that quietly informs the clarity and structure of his art.
Jared’s paintings focus on line, shape, and colour, working with elemental aspects to reveal the quiet relationships that emerge when forms connect. His influences include Piet Mondrian’s distilled geometry, the philosophical quietude of Minimalism, and the vibrant colour expression of Van Gogh and Pop Art — inspirations that have coalesced through years of artistic pursuit.
Jared is represented by The Lloyd Gallery in Penticton, British Columbia, and Woodlands Gallery in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His first solo exhibition, Kaleido-Genesis, was presented at Woodlands Gallery in 2024.
